Why isn't my post-purchase offer showing?

Applies to: Post-purchase offers in Brew. Requires post-purchase offers to be enabled in your Shopify checkout settings.

If you created a post-purchase offer but customers are not seeing it after they place an order, one of the checks below will almost always explain why.

Post-purchase offers work differently from your other offers. The post-purchase page is controlled by Shopify, not by Brew, and Shopify will skip that page entirely for certain payment methods and certain kinds of orders. Even a perfectly configured offer will not appear on an order that Shopify has decided to skip.

Work through the sections in order. The first four are settings you can fix. The rest are conditions on the order itself.

Brew is not selected as your post-purchase app
The offer is not active
Another offer won on priority
The order did not match the offer conditions
The payment method skips the post-purchase page
The order itself did not qualify

This is the most common cause by far.

Shopify allows only one app to own the post-purchase page. If you have any other upsell app installed, or previously had one,

Adding Pre-Checkout Upsell Opt-Ins For Order Plus Extension

Accepted Answer

By default, Order Plus displays upsell offers at checkout. The AutoCheck feature allows you to add an opt-in to your cart page so customers can accept an upsell before reaching checkout.

When a customer opts in from the cart, Order Plus reads the orderPlusChecked cart property and automatically pre-selects the upsell offer at checkout. If the customer doesn't opt in, the offer still appears at checkout as normal. This gives customers an earlier opportunity to see and engage with the offer.

Important: Shopify Compliance

Shopify requires that any product added to an order must have explicit customer consent. That means:

The upsell must not be pre-checked by default. The customer needs to actively opt in.
The upsell label must clearly describe what the customer is agreeing to (e.g., "Add [Upsell] to my order").
Do not silently inject cart properties without a visible UI element.
